There’s been a steady increase in house prices across Galway compared to this time last year.

That’s according to the latest figures from property website Daft.ie.

GALWAY CITY:

The average home in the city is now 273 thousand euro – an increase of 3 percent compared to Q1 2017. In the same study this time last year, Galway City saw year on year price increases of 16.3% compared to Q1 2016.

It’s also a very significant increase of 70 percent above the lowest point recorded in recent years for city properties.

COUNTY GALWAY:

Meanwhile, the average house price in the county now stands at 194 thousand euro – 11 percent higher than last year and 53 percent higher than it’s lowest point.

Nationally, the average cost of a home is now over 7 percent higher than it was one year ago.

BOTTOM LINE:

Property prices are continuing to increase albeit at a more steady rate. This will likely continue until supply increases significantly.
